(Macao News) The Macao Startup Club was honoured to support the launch of the 2025 Guangzhou Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition (Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan division) and HKUST Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition (Guangzhou event), held today at the Macao Youth Entrepreneurship Incubation Centre. Vice-President Leon Lai, Vice-Executive Chairman Ambrose António, and Supervisory-Advisor Marco Wai represented the Club, joining more than 50 business leaders and representatives from major Greater Bay Area institutions and entrepreneurial organisations.

A highlight of the event was the delegation’s meeting with Mr. Lei Chon Kit, Division Head of the Technology Department, Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. Mr. Lei commended the Club’s dedication to advancing innovation in Macau, underscoring the importance of its ongoing role in outreach and youth entrepreneurship development.

Co-hosted by the Guangzhou Science and Technology Bureau and HKUST, this year’s competition engages over 70 agencies to deliver comprehensive services in business plan refinement, training, and resource connection. With a prize pool of 1.52 million RMB and more than 3 million RMB in startup-empowering resources, the event is set to strengthen regional cooperation, support the emergence of outstanding new ventures, and reinforce Macau’s role as a dynamic hub for technological entrepreneurship.
