Macao Startup Club Visits Macao Science and Technology Development Fund to Promote Synergistic Development of Scientific Research and Entrepreneurship

(Macao News) The Macao Startup Club visited the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT) today to discuss strengthening collaboration between local scientific research and entrepreneurship. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on promoting Macao's innovation and technology ecosystem, nurturing young entrepreneurial talent, and facilitating resource matching.

The visit was led by the President of the Macao Startup Club, Mr James Si Tou, accompanied by the Club's core members, including Vice Presidents Ms Kylie Chim, Mr Peter Chang, and Mr Leon Lai; Executive Chairman Mr John Ku, Executive Vice Chairman Mr Ambrose Antonio, Board Member Mr Sky Chao, and Board Member Mr Leo Cheng. The delegation introduced the Club's development history and future direction to Mr. Che Weng Keong, President of the FDCT, and his cabinet.


Since its establishment in 2018, the Macao Startup Club has been committed to building a local entrepreneurial community. To date, it has organised more than 80 events, attracting over 8,000 participants. These activities include entrepreneurship competitions, industry-sharing sessions, skills training, and entrepreneur gatherings, aiming to provide a platform for local young entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and gain practical experience.


Club representatives shared their experiences connecting domestic and international entrepreneurial resources during the meeting. They hoped to strengthen cooperation with the FDCT, particularly in supporting innovation and technology projects, transforming scientific research achievements, and matching resources for young entrepreneurs.


The FDCT also affirmed the Macao Startup Club's contributions to promoting youth innovation and entrepreneurship, recognising the vital role of community forces in driving local technological innovation and talent cultivation, and expressed anticipation for the continued strengthening of ties between the two parties.


This visit marks a new starting point for exchange and cooperation between local entrepreneurial organisations and scientific research funding institutions, and it also demonstrates the determination of young entrepreneurs to participate actively in Macao's innovation and technology development.
