On 27 June 2025, the “Resonating the Future – New Technologies and Product Launch Event,” co-hosted by Resonate Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and the Macao Startup Club, concluded successfully at the Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre. The organisers expressed sincere gratitude to the Centre for its generous support. Centred on the theme of “Health + Society + Environmental Protection,” the event showcased Resonate’s latest research achievements in natural rice husk fibre materials, aiming to foster cross-industry collaboration and the dissemination of environmental protection concepts. The event welcomed over 80 participants from government, business, environmental organisations, and the media.

In his opening address, Fong Hio Fan, young Founder and Executive Director of Resonate Biotechnology, highlighted the company’s dedication since its establishment in 2025 to transforming agricultural waste into high-value products. Leveraging proprietary rice husk fibre technology, Resonate has developed eco-friendly tableware and cutting boards that are fully biodegradable, offer an antibacterial rate of 99.9%, and withstand heat up to 120°C. These innovations not only fill a gap in the market but also contribute to global carbon reduction—each product replacing traditional ceramic or wooden alternatives reduces carbon dioxide emissions by several hundred grammes.
Fong underscored Resonate’s mission of “Environmental Resonance” and its innovative approach to converting agricultural waste into sustainable resources. Through collaborations with universities and research institutions, Resonate has overcome challenges in the strength and weather resistance of rice husk fibre materials, securing international certifications from Germany’s TÜV Rheinland and Switzerland’s SGS.
A notable highlight was the introduction of the Mickey Mouse series tableware, marking the first integration of classic IP into eco-friendly products by a Macau enterprise. These products, which have passed rigorous safety and design reviews, combine fun with sustainability and are particularly suitable for children and environmentally conscious consumers.
Jin Lang, Executive Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the South China Office of the China Environmental Protection Federation, commended Resonate’s technological breakthroughs as a model for the resource utilisation of agricultural waste and a driver for China’s dual carbon goals. She noted that Resonate’s internationally certified products, including approvals from TÜV Rheinland and the US FDA, set a high standard for safety and functionality, and encouraged more companies to adopt natural materials in place of petrochemical resources.
Tan Wenjuan, representing the Hefei Huainan Economic Development Zone Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park, emphasised the importance of agricultural waste utilisation in Huainan. She affirmed that the adoption of Resonate’s technology not only advances local agricultural transformation but also injects green momentum into the regional economy.
James Si Tou, President of the Macao Startup Club, recognised Resonate as a benchmark innovative enterprise supported by the club. He noted that Resonate’s model of converting agricultural waste into eco-friendly products demonstrates a successful integration of technology and environmental protection, serving as an inspiration for Macau’s youth entrepreneurship. Mr Si Tou highlighted the company’s strong commercial competitiveness and its closed-loop ecosystem, achieved through partnerships with local enterprises and universities. He reaffirmed the Club’s ongoing commitment to providing policy support, resources, and cross-regional cooperation to help Resonate become a pioneer in green technology innovation across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to sustainable development and a greener future through technological innovation and collaborative endeavour.
